Technology Integration
Instructor: Mrs. Roubie
At Lake Ridge Elementary School, we use technology to support and enhance the teaching and learning of Virginia Standards of Learning objectives. We have a computer lab with 28 computers and three printers. Most classes come to the computer lab at least twice a month to participate in activities that support their curriculum.

Teachers may also use technology in their classrooms. We have 60 laptops, nine students cameras, two small digital (Flip) video cameras, three Promethean ActivBoards, two ActivSlates, and three ActivVote student response systems, all of which may be checked out by any teacher. In addition, most classrooms have 1-3 computers for student use.

This year, for the first time, we have three interactive whiteboards mounted in the school - two in classrooms and one in the library.   Our three mobile ActivBoards are shared among all other classrooms and the computer lab.

Our librarian, Miss Alarico, French teachers, Mrs. Rigot and Mrs. Saxon, and School Counselor, Miss Johnson, also incorporate technology into their lessons in classrooms and in the computer lab.
